Given the high footfall and stringent security measures at Tate, delivery brands were deemed unsuitable due to the challenges posed by access and security concerns related to unauthorised delivery drivers. Instead, Oya identified catering businesses, food production companies, and meal kit providers as perfect fits. These types of businesses offered limited deliveries, regular working hours, and consistent staffing, making them ideal for the high-security environment.

In addition to tenant selection, Oya Kitchens provided a comprehensive white-glove service, assisting Tate with everything from creating compelling content for the site to optimising the kitchen descriptions. They also conducted a thorough market analysis to determine the appropriate rental rates before launching the listings.

The Results: £50k per annum annual contract in the food industry

Within just six weeks of listing the kitchens on our dark/ghost kitchen marketplace, Oya Kitchens facilitated over 10 viewings of the site. These viewings included a diverse range of potential tenants, such as wedding caterers, NHS food production companies, a food brand requiring prep and freeze space, and a start-up focused on cook-at-home meal kits.

Ultimately, Tate Britain’s F&B team identified Fika Catering, a catering company, as the ideal tenant. Fika proved to be a professional and reliable partner, offering a long-term contract with favourable terms.
